Integrated Mobility Centre Ostrava

(Traffic Advice Centre ODIS)

Integrated mobility centre (IMC) is defined as a point, where information concerning mobility, mainly public transport but also other forms of transport (bicycle travel, car rental etc.),
is provided.

Koordinátor ODIS s.r.o., Moravian-Silesian Region and cities Ostrava and Opava were all involved in European project PIMMS CAPITAL. The aim of this project was to trade and realize experiences and examples with transport in other European cities and regions. The idea to open IMC in Ostrava was brought from other cities, which have their own integrated mobility centres, such as in Frankfurt on the Main (D) or Birmingham (GB). Concrete agenda of IMC Ostrava was adapted to real conventions, demands and preferences in Ostrava and in the whole Moravian-Silesian Region.

IMC Ostrava project was successfully applied for co-financing with European Union through Regional Operational Programme Moravia-Silesia (ROP Moravskoslezsko) from European Regional Development Fund (85 %), the rest financial means (15 %) were provided by Moravian-Silesian Region.

IMC Ostrava office is emplaced in new reconstructed ground-floor in Dopravní podnik Ostrava a.s. headquarters immediate vicinity to frequented tram and bus stop Karolina nearby shopping centre Nová Karolina. In these new premises is also situated the ticket-office of Dopravní podnik Ostrava a.s., who is the partner of the project. Koordinátor ODIS s.r.o. took over the rented premises on 1st July 2014 and started to realize the prepared project.

IMC Ostrava provides the following services:

Information about the public transport particularly in Moravian-Silesian Region:

  • Information about Integrated Transport System ODIS (IDS ODIS) in Moravian-Silesian Region.
  • Information about schedules and connections so as searching the optimal connection.
  • Information about actual traffic state during closures and during extraordinary situations in public transport, delays etc.
  • Information about prices, tariff and transport conditions of particular carriers.
  • Information about selling the travel tickets.
  • Information about transit inspection.
  • Solving reclamations of functionality of Dopravní podnik Ostrava a. s. vending machines.
  • Selling printed timetables.
  • Contractual ticket selling for railway carrier Leo Express a. s. (payment is possible only with cash).

Information about alternative transport:

  • Information about bicycle transport (bicycle maps).
  • Information about car rental companies.

Offer of informational and promotional materials with public transport theme.

In preparation:

  • Promotion of Cooltour bike rent.

 

Summary of the state after realization IMC Ostrava project

The aim of the project was to establish regional multifunctional informational office with the focus on providing the information not only about the public transport but also about alternative transport. The workplace was progressively supplied with relevant informational materials and started the cooperation with railway carrier LEO Express Global a.s. – travel tickets of these carrier are sold in IMC Ostrava.

For past period until 30th November 2015 can be stated that IMC Ostrava fulfil its procedure and original purpose so as it gradually develops.

The workplace, for public relations called Information centre ODIS, is opened from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm on working days and on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 12:45 pm. Personnel constitution is provided with two employees, supplemented with alternate workers in need.

The realization of the IMC Ostrava project was conditioned with Partnership Agreement and Rental of non-residential premises agreement concluded between Koordinátor ODIS s.r.o. and Dopravní podnik Ostrava a.s.

Koordinátor ODIS s.r.o. took over the rented premises including employees, who worked at Dopravní podnik Ostrava information centre, on 1st July 2014 and started to realize the prepared project. On IMC Ostrava grand opening were Moravian-Silesian Region representatives (vice-hetman Mgr. Havlík), Regional Council (deputy headmaster Ing. Gelnar), media and others. The grand opening took place at IMC Ostrava, Poděbradova 2, Ostrava, on 22nd October 2014.
